Biography
Henrike Brust joined the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP) Greifswald, Germany, in 2017 as a postdoctoral researcher to establish research on plasma agriculture topics. Currently, she is leader of the research group Plasma-Agriculture within the research program Agriculture, Bioeconomy & Environment at INP. Before she worked at the University Potsdam where she received the Doctorate Degree of Molecular Plant Biology in 2014.

Her research interests are focused on pre-harvest processes such as testing and developing plasma-based treatment systems for decontamination of plant seeds prior to seeding and plasma treatments of plants at different stages of the plant life cycle. The latter aims to stimulate plant development, plant growth and to enhance plant stress adaptation and plant health. The effects of plasma treatments on plants are studied on agriculturally relevant plant species ranging from cereals to legumes. The analysis of biochemical and molecular markers that respond to plasma treatments helps to answer the important question of how plasma affects plant physiology and metabolism.
